Year 11 recently met three former NGHS students when they came back to school to share their stories of life after NGHS, college, jobs and what they are doing now.
The session was delivered by Future First, who brought Casey, Craig and Rob to talk to meet Year 11. After a short introduction, the Alumni members chatted to each group in turn and students were really interested to hear their different careers paths. Rob who left NGHS in 1972 is now a self-employed plasterer who left school and went straight into work, he had great tips on how to be independent. Craig left school in 2006 and now works in IT for an insurance company and Casey who left in 2016 is a support worker for disabled adults. Students learned about how to greet someone in a professional context, body language and professional language. Alumni members also shared the importance of work experience when discovering your future career and discussed work ethic and confidence.
Students really enjoyed meeting former students and discovering more about professionalism and the world of work.
