The Greenbrow Theatre is situated in the main hall of the school, this is where all the performances from the Expressive Arts faculty take place. The space has full stage lighting and sound facilities and can seat over 200 people. We also have a drama studio where drama lessons take place during the school day.
With a Recording Studio, music ICT room and practice rooms, NGHS provides a brilliant environment for our budding musicians.
The Art and Photography department gives students access to large art studios boasting a range of specialist equipment; print making, textile design, batik, graphic design software, photography studio set ups with backdrops, lighting, and a number of DSLR cameras, as well as compact digital and bridge cameras. The rooms are open to students during break, lunch time and after school. Many Saturday clubs are offered to students in Key Stage 4.
The large sports hall is well used during the school day and by local sporting groups in the evenings. The sports hall accommodates a wide range of indoor sports.
We are fortunate to have a full size, flood lit, all weather pitch on school grounds which can be used for a variety of sports come rain or shine. This great facility is available to hire out of school hours.
The Gymnasium has a specialist floor which makes it an ideal space for gymnastics and martial arts. The space is equipped with wall bars, beams, ropes, basketball rings and a badminton court.
Large, segregated changing rooms with toilets and hot showers are available.
At NGHS, we have a wealth of ICT facilities that underpin high quality teaching and learning and also ensure the efficient and smooth running of the school. The school has a number of dedicated ICT rooms. Computing lessons take place in these rooms, which are also available for students use in their own time after school hours under Teacher supervision. Students have ample storage space on their own network drive, as well as filtered safe high-speed broadband Internet access.
The NGHS library has plenty of space including areas for quiet study and reading, as well as computer access.
The library holds a huge selection of books and resources, including fiction and non-fiction books. It also has a range of newspapers and magazines for students to read and a dedicated Careers section with information on local colleges.
