This term has been a busy one for Drama and especially Year 8 students.
Barbican Box is an event that requires dedication, commitment, imagination and professionalism. Thirteen Year 8 students demonstrated all of this on Tuesday 26th June at HOME Theatre.
The ‘Box’ is full of props, costumes, pictures, letters and any evidence that can be used to devise Drama. Devising is different to scripted work as the students and teacher develop the script from scratch. They used a range of techniques to create a fantastic piece based on the narrative of Leila and Justice – two teenagers finding their feet after high school.
Thirteen students spent a whole day at Home Theatre having technical rehearsals and a final performance in front of four other schools and an audience. They were truly amazing and a real pleasure to work with.
